Too cute: Police officer rescues tiny kitten from interstate wall (includes video)

A North Kansas City police officer has a tiny new sidekick after a special rescue along I-29 just before Christmas.

Officer Jason Smith spotted a tiny kitten stranded on the jersey barrier wall between the northbound and southbound lanes of I-29.

Smith called for help with traffic control, then got out of his unit and rescued the tiny crying kitten.

The kitten clearly wasn't happy with its situation, until Smith carried it back to his patrol unit. Then the kitten relaxed, and felt right at home with its newfound companion.

While police don't know exactly how the kitten ended up on that jersey barrier, this story has a happy ending.

Update: Officer Smith’s family has since adopted the kitten he rescued, giving her the name “Bella”. Welcome to the blue family Bella! You’re now in good hands :)
